This is the part of success that no one shows you or talks about. Truth is most people are over complicating their goals, making excuses why they haven’t done it yet, or talking themselves out of that good idea.
In my world, success is though innovation. Making products, parts, solutions for the off road racer or hard core enthusiast.
I’ve been working on a electronic locking rear differential for our TRX/Raptor platform that allows you to get the best of both worlds. A trophy truck fabricated rear end housing, and the simplicity of an E-locker like the factory trucks have.
Friday I came to the determination that I picked the wrong gear set and needed to start over. I spent about 20 minutes in the phone with @eastcoastgearsupply and got an education on all things Dana 70-80 while I walked around my dads junkyard.
By the end of the phone call I had my mind made up. I grabbed the forklift, hauled the truck close to the shop, rolled out the torches and got to work.
It took me 45 minutes to get the housing out, another 15 to wash it. I was back at my shop, prize in hand before noon.
I tore it apart, and measured it before end of day. Made a bunch of notes about pinion offset, bearing choice, diameters and such… made myself a quick print and locked it down for the weekend.
Saturday my lady and I went to the @ormhof hall of fame thank you @jennhell and Sunday I designed the new RW_80
Point is this. It’s not as complicated to bring that idea you have to life. That thing you’ve been talking about building or doing, it starts with action.
If you came to my shop and saw all of what we have to work with and do, most “normal people” would laugh me off after I told them I had to go to the junk yard and get a rear end to measure. But nobody’s laughing when we sell 100 of these units! Do the work!
