Real pioneers, true hot rodders
When you think about legendary car builders like Carrol Shelby, Peter Brock, Steve Salleen, or John Hennessy what comes to mind.
I think of the work they did in their early days when they were running balls to the walls, up all night, and really just slave to their passion.
Now, most of these men have built companies that mass produce parts that represent a heritage of what they once did. With the exception of John, who still builds wild shit.
I think I’m in the stage where we are truly building what people desire. Huge horsepower, massive tires, suspension to the limits, carbon hand crafted body work that aggressively and elegantly makes a statement.
There is almost no one left doing what we do. How many builders are building the entire performance, aesthetic, bumpers, suspension, exhaust, a truly complete package?
Some days, I ask myself… Why do you do this, you can order someone else’s fenders, bolt on exhaust, build some suspension and bumpers, and have a “bad ass” kit….
But truth be told, the legendary builders, the real pioneers, the true hot rodders, they didn’t do it that way. I feel like we live in a screenshot, swipe up to buy, cheap culture.
Not many real builders in any Motorsports space these days. It’s kind of sad, but it also leaves a huge opportunity for the psychos, the die hards and the someday legends.
There aren’t many real ones left. This is just the truth, the internet has made it easier to “build a truck” but there’s got to be a place for us that are all in like the legendary builders before us.
I hope to accomplish something memorable and legendary in my life. I want to be the guy that @joerogan buys trucks from.
My time will come, and it won’t be an accident.
